Xander: I still don't get why we came here to get info about a killer snot monster. Giles: Because it's a killer snot monster from outer space. I did not say that.

Always Anti-fascist!

Does Buffista Island have a flag? Cause Aimee's gonna need it to catch an Izzard. Too bad, Fay, that if EI did show up, baseball and prom aren't the other way around. Because the Izzard bit about "Charge". Funny. I'd love to watch you both riff on that.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

He's not Prussian; he eats his chili over spaghetti!

Hee. I totally am contextless-tagging this, Steph.

Of course cell phones are an option, but why let technology get in the way of the impulse to micromanage??

Nutty, this made me laugh out loud.

Don't you mean VAGINA BOJANGLE?

DearPADDYWHACKwhat? If not before, I require the story at the f2f.

Argh, I'm so behind. Well, here's a meara:

Re: the vid show, I should talk to Laura, but I was thinking maybe 4 pm? 4-5:30/6 pm? That should give people time to do the dinner thing or get ready for the Prom.

Deb, can you add me to your mailing list distribution? My new e is on gmail: cofax7 . I think you should still have my cell #, I know I have you in my cell from way back.

I'm not doing the Alcatraz thing (once was enough, and a night-time tour would give me the screaming heebies), but I'd be interested in the De Young thing at some point. Although going thrifting with Jilli and JZ has its own charms... *g*

Oh, and Dim Sum! Yank Sing is very very good--it's also pretty expensive. There is dim sum that's just as good and way cheaper to be had, in Chinatown. I bet Juliana could get us good recommendations... Or I can poke about online.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

'Suela! I must meet you, and you must recommend places to live in Berkeley.

Oh, a game Davis sometimes plays in-thread. We were buggering bugging him to play it at the F2F. He gives a quote and you guess the Buffista that said it.

Entertaining. I wouldn't have a chance, though.

P-C! We shall meet!

As for housing, Sparky and her DH live very close to the Gourmet Ghetto, off of Cedar, IIRC, which is a marvelous area. Lots of old multi-unit buildings, walking distance to the Berkeley BART station (well, a long walk), and convenient to important places like Black Oak Books and the Cheese Board (::drool::).

I lived for a while on the North Berkeley/Albany line, just off Gilman, which is a gorgeous neighborhood but possibly no longer reasonable (I was in a shared house) and a bit of a walk to BART. It's mostly fab old Craftsman bungalows, and the occasional duplex. Still, walking distance to Solano Ave is nothing to sneer at.

The thing about Berkeley is that it's very much a college town, so proximity to the University means students and everything that comes with them. But there are some fabulous neighborhoods.
