The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

Deb, I was assuming that I'd be taking public transport or something (but wouldn't mind a ride, either). To be honest, I'm really only just now starting to think logistics again, now that a couple of other brain-drainers have been taken care of.

Anyhow, I'm about to leave to go to Baltimore for the weekend. I'll check in w/ people about the best way to get from airport to hotel when I get back.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

Katefate's tag is a line from the McGarrigles song "Going Back to Harlan."

It really doesn't matter. It's just an opinion. Don't worry about it. Not worth the hassle.

Ah, different Shady Grove. Never mind....

Anne, kewl. We'll work the logistics when you get home.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

It's referring to the folk song. Some lyrics:

Frail my heart apart and play me little Shady Grove
Ring the Bells of Rhymney
Till they ring inside my head
Forever
Bounce the bow,
Rock the gallows for The Hanged Man's Reel
And wake the Devil from his dream

And if you were Willie More,
Then I was Barbara Allen or Fair Ellen
All sad at the cabin door
A-weepin' and a-pinin' for love
Ah, weepin' and a-pinin' for love

I love the McGarrigles.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Very very happy that KateFate's coming to play! Yay!

Aw Hec, I can sound so snotty sometimes and I truly didn't mean it that way. It's funny (and my comeuppance, if you'd like to look at it that way) that a year and a half after I uttered that charming line, the universe smacked me with a man I fell hopelessly in love with. No tits, chest hair, beard stubble, all the usual boy stuff. Note to self: never say never.

Awww, it wasn't snotty. It was snarky, but it was very very funny and I certainly didn't ever take offense. It's the first slow dance I had where my dance partner was scoping out the same women I was and we were commenting on the ultimate hotness all around us.

Why do I suddenly have the need to listen to the Roches' first album?

Sister groups that sing folk-type songs?

Because books.

I hope that you can channel the nice nervous, and not waste a minute of F2F fun on the icky nervous.

I will!

And yay for angels! So glad you're coming, katefate!

Oddly, no - more because I just pinged on their song about going away to Ireland. Lordy, it's been decades...

Katefate, that is so cool! I'm so glad you could make this F2F as it's my first one and the more Buffistas I get to meet in person the happier I'ma gonna be. Whoohoo!
