Paging Dashiell Hammet fans: Don't miss historic John's Grill, 63 Ellis at Stockton, not too far from HICC. It's an old-style place to enjoy a Jack LaLanne salad and drink in the Maltese Falcon ambience. It's quite the Buffista sort of place.
Definitely. I found it by accident a few visits ago, very film noirish. Zoot suits and many of the dresses linked to in Bitches would not be out of place there at all. Caveat on the food, the steaks are better than the seafood there.

...so I was wondering whether there might be a cheap place for buying DVDs, at all? (Or whether people might happen to have disks they've ahemed off the interpipe, for that matter [we don't have broadband, and thus cannot do such things here] which I might be able to purchase?)
netflix sells stuff, but do you have a multi region DVD player? or just PAL?
