What is it with you Californians and armwarmers? What the hell IS an armwarmer?
I've worn them during the last two Hallowe'en F2Fs - these. I normally wear them with baby tees.

The only people I've ever heard mention them have been ita and Juliana, and Juliana only since she moved to SF. Hence, armwarmers = A California Thing.
eta: Oh, THOSE! I've been thinking of those as fingerless gloves. I love those! I've been picturing an armwarmer as something like this, but on the arm.

Yep - but does someone have to stay with her the whole time? Because we have a VERY tall bed and I'd be hyper-worried.

juliana, those are armwarmers? OK, got it - I tend to think of legwarmers are being thicker, or at least heavier - more in the knit vein. So I was picturing knit tubes on the arms, or trying to, and failing miserably.

I wish I could just go somewhere to get flensed but none of the whaling ships near me take Medicare.
Plus, I really want to meet as many new Buffistae as possible. Hying off on a daylong trip with only 3-4 people seems...selfish or something.
Honestly, I've been very scared of something like this. That is, people grouping with people they know and breaking off into groups. It's made me loath to commit to things because I'm afraid I'll just end up feeling a bit lonely. I want to help the planners by RSVPing for things and ponying up the money, but I keep wanting to hold back and play it by ear emotionally.

I knew very few people when I arrived at the LA F2F but things are just such a happy jumble that it's very easy to mingle and just find yourself tearing off to locations for fun & frivolity. Really, don't sweat it.
