This girl at school? She told me that gelatin is made from ground-up cow's feet and that every time you eat Jell-O there's some cow out there limping around without any feet. But I told her that I'm sure the cow is dead before they cut its feet off, right?

Plan what to do, what to wear (you can never go wrong with a corset), and get ready for the next BuffistaCon: San Francisco, May 19-21, 2006! Everything else, go here! Swag!

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Okay, here is the web site for the Monterey Bay Aquarium. We have planned on going on Monday.

Pros for going: It's really really really cool. Really.

Cons for going: 1) It is about 125 miles south of San Francisco. Google maps puts the drive from the hotel to the Aquarium at about 2 hours and 10 minutes, so it really is an all day trip, and we will probably hit some rush hour traffic at least on the way there.

2) Getting there might well require renting a car, depending on how many people want to go and how many locals with cars go.

Could any one, locals included, who thinks they want to go, please email me with the following information:
Where you are starting from
Where you want to end up, especially if this is an airport
if you have a flight on Monday, what time is it, and what airport
If you are a local, if you can drive and how many you can fit in your car.
If you would be willing to drive a rental car

Thanks!

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

See, we're so focussed upon seeing other Buffistas, that a hot chick in a chocolate corset is neither here nor there, clearly.

(For my part, I am already wearing a corset made of chocolate. And cake, and bread, and pancakes, and biscuits'n'gravy, and a whole bunch of other things. Yes. Although by corset I guess I sort of mean duvet, really. Sigh.)

Fay is me. except for that whole baseball thing which I couldn't give a toss about.

See, I plan to go as a Cultural Ambassador for the Don'tCareAboutSport people, UK division. In this capacity I attended the final of the Africa (Clubs) Cup. It was interesting. I felt like an anthropologist. Only with more shouting and jumping, and fewer naked people to be embarrassed about.

Winchester - Nope (Jilli's very psychically sensitive and that place may be just a tad too intense).

Note to self: Fay continues to be a cheeky munchkin.

I wish I could just go somewhere to get flensed but none of the whaling ships near me take Medicare.

Would this be a good time to say I don't know what OTP stands for and I haven't yet found it in the FAQ (although that may be due to pilot error)?

I'm getting the pig!

Perkins continues to be a little groggy from her nap.

Unless she really did mean to say Thursday (rather than Monday) toward the end of her last post and was only teasing about the web site.

It really doesn't matter. It's just an opinion. Don't worry about it. Not worth the hassle.

Spidra, it stands for One True Pairing.

I don't know what you mean, Nicole.

(though the web site thing was a typo in the link.)

OTP is a fanfic acronym for One True Pairing.

eg "Clex is my OTP" = "Clark'n'Lex2Getha4Evah!!!111!!" = "Those nice young men are just PERFECT for one another"

(I recently realised that I'm a Jilli'n'Pete 'shipper [ie fan of their relationship]. Indeed, I have pretty much declared myself Captain of HMS Jeeves. With my merry band of big-white-shirt-clad tars I'm sailing the high seas brandishing cutlasses and threatening to commit fic and random acts of gothicity.)

...our flag has a skull and crossbones and a nice top hat. Our ship is black, the sails are a delicate shade of pink, and everybody is wearing magnificent black leather boots and/or pointy footwear. Corsets and bloomers are very popular among the crew. We eschew grog in favour of nice cups of tea. We are arguably the most courteous pirates to be found on the high seas. I go under the name Dread Pirate Clovis, but in point of fact I am not the real Dread Pirate Clovis.

That's it. Pete, we're keeping Fay forever and ever. I hope you don't mind.
