It really doesn't matter. It's just an opinion. Don't worry about it. Not worth the hassle.

Get Your Shit Together?

Yep. And memo to the Suits: don't make me change GYST to FOAD. Really don't.

I'm getting the pig!

I know what FOAD stands for!

Sad that Debet won't be coming. I may pout. But if you do find time to travel to LA before your move to CO, I'd pout a little less...

Fay, that sucks. I'm going to hope that it all turns out okay despite their past record. Otherwise I too will be in the FOAD camp.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

Sadly, that's unlikely, too. Besides, it's likely to be cheaper to get to LA from Colorado. And I still owe the Sommervillians a visit.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I mentioned this in Bitches, but I'll link it here. There's a major exhibition on The International Arts & Crafts Movement from William Morris to Frank Lloyd Wright currently at the De Young Museum in San Francisco, and it will still be showing during the F2F.

JZ and I just saw it this morning and it's fantastic. Masterpieces galore from all the major creators in all forms (furniture, design, book binding, tapestries, pottery, stained glass, jewelry, dresses). For those of you who love the Arts and Crafts movement this is a rare opportunity as this exhibit is only showing in three places and the other two have already happened (London & Indianapolis).

Debet, let me know if you pick a Boston date during June or July. I'm definitely going to go home for a week or so, and a Somervillian visit is part of that plan.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

Ooh, Hec, that does sound nice. The Milwaukee Art Museum has a nice exhibit of FLW and contemporaries, I'd love to see more. I'll just have to wait and see what falls out, though, I'm already starting to feel overbooked for the weekend. I don't know what I want to do! I may just find a hidden corner of beach and veg for a while, that's something we don't have a lot of out here.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

I really do need to get down onto the beach sometime while I'm there. I have a mission: requests to collect a scoop of sand from the beach and a half-cup or so of water from the Pacific Ocean.

That said, I really am open to many things. I'd love to thrift with Jilli and JZ and whomever else. I have a decent eye, especially for things that suit other folks. That Craftsman exhibition looks fabulous, and I'd really like to try and take that in. The Aquarium sounded like a great trip, but with the travel time involved, I'll have to wait and see how I feel before I decide for sure. I would purely love to go to Alcatraz, but boats and I tend to be an uneasy combination, and they haven't built a causeway out there, yet.

I'd like to steep a little bit in the SFness of the city, but I don't really have a lot of stamina for crowds, and I don't have a lot of physical stamina, either. I'm likely to spend some time in a quiet corner, people-watching and conversing with anybody seeking a bit of one-on-one conversation. I want to talk to everybody. I'm so greedy for all of you it's just nearly unbearable, but I'll try to behave. I think I'll probably just play things by ear, do what I feel up to when it's open, and recoup in doses as I can. and also? I.CAN'T.WAIT!

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

Beverly (waves), I'm looking at all these things and saying "yes!" to all of them. Completely overlooking the fact that if I try to do everything that sounds good, I'll probably burn out early.

...

But I can have fun trying!

Our wings are not tired.

I'll probably burn out early.

Same here. I want to do it all, but in the first couple days my east coast body will be wanting to curl up on a sofa at the hotel or somewhere.
