If I stay in the Loop I presume I'll be close enough to transit to get to Quimby's and around town. Is that going to be dead at night or inconvenient to everybody else? What neighborhood is Quimby's in?
It's like half an hour from the loop on the O'Hare blue line to Damen, I think, or Division. But it's been awhile. It's easy to walk around that whole neighborhood, and way interesting. It reminded me a lot of the Haight.
Taking the orange line from Midway-ish to Damen on the blue line will take about an hour to an hour and a half. Which, sadly, I know from experience.

Bought my ticket. Arriving at Midway, Thursday (12/2) at 6:13pm on ATA. Leaving Sunday, (12/5) at 5:25pm. So I'll have some time to play on Sunday during the day as well. Wheee!

Poor planning, stupid finances, lack of time, and zero desire to drive 5 hours there and 5 hours back by myself.

is
grumble worthy. I keep reading all the plans for the NO trip and I get a little depressed because I'm almost 100% sure I can't go. I have to save my money for my brother's wedding a month later (I'm a bridesmaid so I have to buy the dress and I'm getting my hair done the day of, not to mention hotel costs either).
I'm at the San Diego Wild Animal Park with Cass, Billytea, and DebetEsse right now.
Hec, I'm planning on being at Quimby's on Sat. Can't wait!
Also, Orange line el to the loop is verra easy and cheap. Also Blue line from loop to Quimby's is also easy and cheap. Do you know which hotel you're staying at yet? Do you need recommendations?
