It really doesn't matter. It's just an opinion. Don't worry about it. Not worth the hassle.

Coolth! And we have tons of time - there's no pressure on getting the info back to the hotel. A couple of days to let people ping is fine, and then I can send it in with the menu.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I wouldn't be driving regardless - but in general, an earlier open bar just means I start much drinking earlier than I would otherwise, and pay for it afterward. I think later hours will work out well, and for sure we have enough rooms that anyone who isn't comfortable driving home will be well accomodated.

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

Am still very very impressed & grateful for all the work you guys are putting in to making this come together.

(Am also horribly conscious that a couple of beverages will see me sozzled...living in a Muslim country, and with my flatmate now allergic to alcohol, my tolerance? She is GONE. Er. So I apologise in advance for making a gibbering fool of myself.)

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

I've finally discovered the only beer on earth that isn't vile, too. Lambic - framboise flavor. Lovely Belgian fruit beer. So tasty and not at all beerlike.

HAR, I have recently discovered that I cannot stand lambic. 'Twas a surpise to me, too. Too sickly sweet.

I adore "vile" beer and I know there is a local brewery in Northern California, Bear Republic, that does amazing beer. I will find something to drink whatever ends up at the bar, as I love single malt champagne and wine and all that (EDIT: but it's hard for me to balance the drinking of it) but I have an unholy love also for craft beer. (as in, not american lagers like bud and coors, or even heinekan/amstel light, they are still a little light for my general tastes, though I will drink the dutch stuff if necessary). If craft beers are not available... Bass Ale is good, anything IPA is quite drinkable.

Local beers are awesome though.

Just the beer pitch, with all the mixed drink, hard alcohol, and champagne talk.

"The fact that we live at the bottom of a deep gravity well, on the surface of a gas covered planet going around a nuclear fireball 90 million miles away and think this to be normal is obviously some indication of how skewed our perspective tends to be."

I second my wife's pitch for beer. Good beer, if at all possible.

I rarely drink hard liquor and prefer the grain to the grape.

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

...see, I like all beverages. All of them. Gin, vodka, tequila, whisky, bourbon...most any spirit, or liqueur. Red wine rather than white or rose, ideally, but so long as it's not Egyptian it'll be yummy.

Not a big fan of beer, but I don't hate it, and some beers I do thoroughly enjoy.

So, in short, the bar sounds fantastic. And the food also sounds fantastic. And there's a whole big lot of fantastic going on.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

scenario exploring: if two self-confessed super beer snobs, rather than imposing their tastes on the party in general, were to get some craft beer and stash it in the hospitality suite fridge, would we be able to access it for the prom, and drink it there? Or would carryover from the HS to the Prom area be frowned upon and, well, tacky?

'cause the more I think about it, the more I know, we're gonna need good beer. And beer tastes vary WIDELY. And I don't want to drive Deb around the bend for our particular libation fetish.

Anyway. Just a heads up that I am flexible in my inflexibility.

Our wings are not tired.

Carryover from the HS to the Prom would likely be frowned upon. Floating back and forth from the HS to the Prom would be fine. In the past there was a lot of floating back and forth between rooms, the HS, and Prom. Both for drinking the private stash and just escaping to a quiet spot for a bit.

OK. Good to know.
