To commemorate a past event, you kill and eat an animal. It's a ritual sacrifice, with pie.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Whoot! I have tickets! Arriving Thursday about 8 PM at San Jose - anyone else coming in around then? And then leaving Monday noon. Yay!

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

we'll need to give the hotel a 25% deposit - if my math is right, that's $375 plus whatever tax, but bumping it to $500 would be my own suggestion, if that's okay with Laura.

We can do that right now, if need be.

It really doesn't matter. It's just an opinion. Don't worry about it. Not worth the hassle.

juliana, nope - they say they don't need it until about a week before the event. My own take would be to let the reserve build up a lot higher first.

Memo to self, ping Lilibeth about the cash bar deal.

Okay. Also, FYI - if someone wishing to donate has a WF account, you can transfer it straight to my WF account. Let me know (via email) if that's a preferred option, or you can PayPal, or you can send a check.... Whatever. I'm easy.

edit And the PayPal account is staying the same - the better to move money in and out (IOW, I'd have a $500/month cap on my transfers out with a new, free account).

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Anyone want to go to Alcatraz? I have a sick and twisted need to shut Em in a cell and take a picture.

The Alcatraz tour is pretty cool, actually. You take the ferry boat out there so you get a beautiful view of the Bay. Then you put on the award winning audio-tour which has first-person accounts by the guards and prisoners there (with sound effects!)

Emmett owns it on CD and makes me listen to it when we go to school sometimes. (He's a big Alcatraz fan.)

Why isn't everyone pelting me with JOY, dammit? - Zenkitty

I could be interested, depending on timing. Last time I was in SF (good grief, looong time) I was but a poor student and couldn't afford to do Alcatraz. But really wanted to.

Alcatraz is a very well-done tour, and also a bit creepy. I'm glad I did it before the damned MS made boat trips hell instead of pleasurable.

If anybody wants to do Alcatraz, be warned that you need to purchase tickets at least a day ahead of time. You can't do it same day, because it always sells out.

For all the times I've been to SF, I've never done Alcatraz. I'd LOVE to do it with you guys. Especially if we get to put Em in a cell.
