Our wings are not tired.

Shiny!

Any chance of you making it to SF Liese?

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Well, funny you should mention it...

If, purely theoretically speaking, I were able to nab a redeye, what kind of middle-of-the-night type city transportation would be available to me from the airport?

Speaking, you know, in a manner that was theoretical.

It really doesn't matter. It's just an opinion. Don't worry about it. Not worth the hassle.

Which airport, Liese? SFO? And which night are we talking...?

Airport shuttles, cabs and...me! I'll pick you up whenever you arrive.

Yup, deb, SFO. It's available whenver, apparently, so I suppose Thursday night/Friday morning?

And hee, Hec, thanks muchly, but I totally don't want to drag anyone out of their beds.

And in the meanwhile, looks like there's a similar fare with Frontier Airlines, anytime. So. Point perhaps moot.

Liese, give the yelp and Hec or I or someone will be there to get you. Are you hotel-ing or sofa-surfing?

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

SFO is very public transportation friendly, as well. My days of knowing when BART stopped running are long since passed, so I can't say whether that's an issue for late night arrivals or not.

-t, so, no problems getting the bus back downtown yesterday? Kewl. And Betsy pinged me to say she'd got home fine, so all is well.

And you're right, this city is extremely transportation-oriented. With these hills, it kinda has to be; last thing the local hospitals need is a steady stream of people dropping from heart attacks, trying to climb Divisadero or California Street or the Hayes Street hill because there are no buses.

BTW, since are getting ever closer, I'm going to ask Jessica to post a poll with our menu choices. We'll pick the top however many choices that a) hit the money requirement, and b) ensure that veggie and pescatarian eaters have nosh, as well as the carnivores.

We'll also need to decide on how we want to handle the bar. My thinking is that, if they'll let us make up any shortfall after the prom is over, we should just go with a completely stocked open cash bar, and make sure they keep the accounting for afterward.

Also, will need to know about a post B2B BBQ at Chez Grabien. We can host everyone comfortably and, oddly enough, the weather on race day has a weird habit of being cooperative.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Working on it now...

Just FYI, our current attendance count is 52 yes, 10 undecided. Gonna be a nice big crowd!

I'm thinking we'll give it a week for latecomers - Liese! once you book, assuming you do, can you check the poll in Press, and ping whether you're coming to Prom? - and then set the number at food for between 55 and 65. Hard number can be settled from ther, but honestly, not a huge deal; there's always an ebb and flow, people pay but are no shows or they don't eat. There should be plenty to eat, even if extra people show up.

Oh, and in re the Prom cost, we'll need to give the hotel a 25% deposit - if my math is right, that's $375 plus whatever tax, but bumping it to $500 would be my own suggestion, if that's okay with Laura. We still have a good month before we need to do that, though.

And remember, there will be a shitload of very good food up in the hospitality suite. So if K-bug (happy sixteenth birthday tomorrow) is going to be babysitting a corral of Babyfistas, she should be very well fed while she's doing it.
