Well, my days of not taking you seriously are certainly coming to a middle.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Pete, that's marvellous.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

It's perfect.

I'm getting the pig!

Gorgeous, Pete. Absolutely gorgeous. Thank you so very, very much.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Lovely and evocative and completely right, Pete. I may have to cover a pillow with my t-shirt, so I can look at it while I sip my tea next January and remember SF2F this May.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Pete, AWESOME!!! I love it.

meara: and it's been a long time since I used that as a verb.

House Rules by Kane?

oh. hell. yes. if not at the party, then in the suite, or SOMEWHERE.

And if anyone else were interested in a couple of Arabic tunes - some Nancy Agram, Amr Diab or Ruby, perhaps...? Well, I could sling over a couple of tracks, if anyone were interested. I know that there are several bellydancing types among the Buffistas who could possibly enjoy it.

Who, ME?

I know we have a bellydancer coming (koffsmonsterkoff), so maybe something she could dance to? If she wanted?

Actually, I was coming here to see if peeps were interested in me dancing. It would be to something... appropriately geeky. I may even pack full bedlah.

And like there hasn't been more than enough requested, I'm going to toss in: one Kylie song, Your Disco Needs You or Love at First Sight

Kanye - Gold Digger or Family Business or Two Words or Touch the Sky or... well, whatever.

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

BEAUTIFUL, Pete!

It really doesn't matter. It's just an opinion. Don't worry about it. Not worth the hassle.

ND, I officially withdraw any request for any particular music, and I think not so much with the actual live music, either. Just play what everyone else wants to hear, add the extra half-hour, and do it that way.

Deb, I adored the sheer glee and joy of your original request, and I second it, damn it. You're working your arse off for our benefit, and I think that you totally should get to have some of the music you love the best, and I'm sure everyone coming would be cool with that (and enjoy it too!), ND included. I appreciate that he maybe doesn't have any Stones stuff, but I bet he's got lots of music of that ilk that will still make you beam like a crazy lady and dance your socks off. (Although I honour you for not wanting to be all demandy and stuff.) You were just asking for a particular style of music to be included in the play list - and, you know, it's all cool as fuck.

I liked pretty much every musical suggestion people made, but I'm sure that whatever ND comes up with will be fantastic - and I should maybe add that I'll be totally cool with an utter absence of jazz standards (although I can't promise not to wander round absentmindedly singing cheezy jazz, 'cause, well, that's what I do). I'm easy.

You know. In a nonporny way.

...what?

Our wings are not tired

I'm thinking silence sounds like a good idea.

I'm also cranky and have been working on a huge musical for weeks now.

Pretty much what I've done in the past is ask what people want and put it in a playlist. That's all I was planning on doing this year. I typically even go out of my way to buy the tracks/CD's that I don't have so that we can listen to what folks want. Trick is we've got very eclectic tastes in this group, so there's an awful lot of one man's trash is another mans treasure.

Honey, I will. It's in my iPod. There's all I want in there, and more. It aint a problem. Just as happy to do my dancing under the stars, out by the pool - and NOT have to risk the guitars, in any case. They aren't insured at the moment, thinking about it.

Drew, do it any way that works for you, and is the easiest. I have no idea how you usually do it, but do it that way, whatever that way happens to be.
