I'm sure some people are actually running, are there any run-walk-run-walkers around? I'm just not capable of a constant run.

My knees can't take sustained running, especially on asphalt (treadmills/dirt paths are easier).

Plan what to do, what to wear (you can never go wrong with a corset), and get ready for the next BuffistaCon: San Francisco, May 19-21, 2006! Everything else, go here! Swag!

Oooh, good! I can have a stump-buddy, because I will be stumping along at my own pace. I love walking, but I'm just not built for running. Do I need to dye my hair blue for this? I would consider it, although my daughter would probably think I'm nuts.
I will likely alternate Sail. Running straight up a big ass hill might kill me ded. The tallest building around me that I can think of is a hospital with 5 floors. That would be good for "hill" training. I can't stand the step machines at the gym but real steps are ok.
That's where I'm hoping the treadmills at work will come in handy. They have hill profile programs, plus dual speed programs. I can start out slowly with a couple miles a day and then add a mile every couple of weeks. By the time May rolls around, I should be able to handle 12k without dying.
I'm excited and filled with dread at the same time! I know that I can walk/jog 12k at home with no issue, but I remember melting to a puddle when I climbed Tank Hill with Nilly, JZ, and Hec. The fun notion of doing the B2B with this group will make the stairwell training worthwhile.
Do I need to dye my hair blue for this?
Yes. Blue hair will be mandatory for the run/walk portion of the race.
(You can't blame me for trying!)
I'll chill the champagne for anyone running B2B. You need to rope together at the waist or something, and go as the Scythe, or something like that.
Quick sidenote--seeing Kate yesterday rocked!
We could always do F2F shirts that proclaim our Buffistaness. Maybe something similar to the business cards and we could all wear our tiaras.
B2B in tiaras? Perfect.
