Lorne: Once the word spreads you beat up an innocent old man, well, the truly terrible will think twice before going toe-to-toe with our Avenging Angel. Spike: Yes. The geriatric community will be soiling their nappies when they hear you're on the case. Bravo.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

New Orleans has pretty reasonably priced airport shuttles in the event there's no local ride.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

There's me.

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

Even cabs aren't that expensive to the Quarter, especially if you split.

S to the A -- using they/them pronouns!

Okay. Was just wondering, particularly about booking flights, whether it would be easier to try and get there when other people do or if I'd be okay getting to the hotel on my own.

Our wings are not tired

When I was there for a conference a few years ago I took a cab from the airport down to the stadium area. I seem to remember it being about a $40-$50 charge.

I also remember being warned about making sure that I had a registered cab as there were quite a few that would rip you off.

Maybe it was Toronto or Minneapolis then. I thought it was NO though.

It's a flat rate from the airport, $24: [link]

Shuttles are $10.

Must have been one of my other conferences then. Sorry to mislead.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

Things for ND to do in Somerville:

Fri. Dec. 17 - The Lothars are playing at a dive bar called the Abbey Lounge.

Sat. Dec 18 - The Somerville Illuminations Holiday Tour. Not to be missed! Bonus for this year: I will be leading a couple of the tours! Probably at 7:30 and 8:45pm, but I'll let Buffistas know which ones for sure as soon as the schedule is finalized.
