Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Bartley's?

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

is that the milkshake and burger place?

(I know I said I would shut it, but I have decided to google before speaking from now on)

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Bartley's?

Yep, that's there. I think the locals would riot if they ever tried to turn that into something else (though I've never thought they were especially great burgers myself, so I don't get the fanatic love - good onion rings though).

I did here one bit of good-ish news, though it's slightly outside of the square proper. Supposedly The Plough & The Stars is going to re-open next year.

I never had burgers there--chili and a dee-lish chocolate shake.

I've never been to Boston, I'm quite excited. I plan to arrive thursday evening as well, hang with with my friends. Friday, I'll meet up with Deb at some point, go to the signing. Saturday I'll hang out with my friends, I'm not sure what I'm doing in the evening, my friends have tickets to a concert, but i may end up hanging out with another Boston friend. Sunday, brunch and tree trimming with Sandra, then home.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

What was that rep cinema...University Theater? The one where they always had an old James Bond double feature on every schedule.

If you mean the Brattle, it may close at the end of the year, unless they get some Sugar Daddy action. [link]

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Deb, dearheart, your website is not updated with details of the Boston signing. I'm hoping to get a friend who lives in the Boston area (her dh is an architect working on the Big Dig) to go, if her crazy work and toddler-having schedule permits.

Not the Brattle. It was another one right off Harvard Square. Cheap double features for the students. Not the Orson Welles either.

I loved The Brattle. That's where I saw (cue Vonnie) my first Michael Powell retrospective.

Elsie's! That's the sandwich place I was thinking of. That closed though, didn't it?

Is Million Year Picnic still open?

Oh cool, the Brattle is having a Humphrey Bogart series at the end of the month.

Well, it would be cool if I could travel there to see it.

Yes! Not sure about Elsie's.

It was another one right off Harvard Square. Cheap double features for the students. Not the Orson Welles either.

Maybe the Harvard Square Theater then? Where the Clash played? It's still there, but it's a regular 1st run multiplex.

t edit Yeah, that must be it [link] (google cache because the regular link ain't working)
