I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

The hotel is also convenient to the French Quarter (trolley line, I believe).

It's actually in the French Quarter.

It all sounds good to me. Thanks Kristin.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

Actually, -t used the doc to get the quotes. I used it to narrow down hotels to ask. Things look great Kristin!

Punishingly Intricate

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

Kristin, that all looks fantastic. Thank you! And thank you to everyone who has worked to put all this together.

If I am reading your post right, we have until April 19th to book rooms at the reduced rate of $109/night, correct? Is that the same price for singles/doubles/whatever? What will the prices be after the 19th? (I can also look this up myself in a moment, if you don't have the answers handy.)

If I want to become a cloud of bats, does each bat need a separate vaccination?

Kristin/t/Heather/ND, thank you for all the work you've done. This hotel sounds absolutely fantastic.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

This sounds fabulous! I have a sneaking feeling I may not be able to go, especially since if I decide to move, it will probably happen in April or May.

That said, I'm very grateful to those who have pushed to get this done so far in advance, since it means that I now have information to work that might let me work my plans around the F2F with a minimum of hassle.

Ann, that's a ferret.

Kristin, my vote is to go for it.

(ETA:) And seconding Jessica's thanks to all who have planned everything so far in advance.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

I'm really excited. Bouncing in my chair excited. No way to convey my excitement over the 'net even with all the emoticons, ass caps and !?!?!?'s in the world.

Not having has never been the thing I've regretted most in my life. Not trying is.

That all sounds great, Kristin.

And thanks to all who have put in so much work to get and keep all these balls in the air.

The $109 rate is for a double room technically, but I think all that means is a room with two beds. It shouldn't matter how many people in a room.

I will repost once I have the contract in hand with the listed cutoff date for rooms.

That said, Marvin is going to contact me at the 90, 45, and 30 day mark with a room reservation count. I'll post numbers as they come in.

I plan on being in NOLA by Thursday night, the 19th. I will be leaving most likely on Monday the 23rd (go personal day, choose personal day).

Glad it looks good to everyone. I will take care of the reservation tonight.
