Attention anyone planning to come to the Halloween par-tay at my place this weekend: despite apartment and general life angst, it's still on, though by then it may be a Halloween/Bon Voyage party depending on the final inspection of my illegal dwelling Thursday. Please email ND or me or respond to the evite if you're planning on coming. There will be bat-shaped lights and spiderwebs and spooky Halloween noises and enough alcohol to make you a real corpse. Costumes are encouraged.

I'm psyched as well. I'm balancing between "Oh, man, I need a trip out of town with no pressure attached, YAY Los Angeles and party!" and "GAH, four days of not working on new book, HEAD WILL EXPLODE!"
