Once Upon A Crime.
F2F 3: Who's Bringing the Guacamole?
Plan what to do, what to wear (you can never go wrong with a corset), and get ready for the next BuffistaCon: San Francisco, May 19-21, 2006! Everything else, go here! Swag!
(We're just jealous that we can't go to Juliana's, so we're compensating.)
(Also, I never ever want to chaperone 150 10th graders with inept leaders again. Ever.)
Liese, I am definitely going to New Orleans, and I'm so sorry to be missing you.
Once Upon A Crime.
Gah. Je suis une idiot.
Friday, the 28th - reading at once upon a mystery on 26th and Garfield at 7 pm.
Sunday, the 30th - Karaoke & a costume contest at thr Market BBQ.
We hadn't decided on Saturday yet.
Sigh. I was so excited when Daniel kept saying the f2f would be on Hallowe'en. I have Hallowe'en off. Now I have to, like, think and stuff, to figure out which non-Hallowe'en day I'd get the most bang for the buck to beg to take off, and also find someone to trade shifts with, as I haven't been there long enough to get paid for just lounging about.
ETA: Hold on, stop the presses! Would it be totally wrong of me to offer the idea of a Saturday brunch, say, 11ish?
Andi, what's the roadblock - is it working hours? Because I thought you guys were fairly close to the Twin Cities - 40 miles or so. Isn't that about half an hour via the freeway?
Depends on where you want to be in the Twin Cities. Forty miles to the loop, 10 more to downtown.
The last ten in to the center of town were very gerrymandered back in the '60s and are only now being somewhat fixed. Road construction continues.
See, I probably have a skewed perception about a 50-mile distance. We live in SF and Nic's daily commute for two years was here to Milpitas: 60 miles each direction, every single day. And even though he now works in Redwood City (only 28 miles each way), we still drive down to feed our feral cat colony every two nights, without fail, and that's 52 miles each direction.
Yes, I know. Californians is weird.
But you are a cute weird.
Yup, on that weekend, I'll be scheduled to work 3pm-10pm (or maybe 11) both Saturday and Sunday. So, if we could meet up on either day later in the morning, I'd have time to lounge about with you lot then get to work - no plotting and planning how to get the time off. Mind you, at this point the real obstacle for getting the time off, is me knowing which day is the one to trade for. (And of course, the knowledge that I'll most likely be trading away the chance to have Daniel's birthday off, so as to be able to actually celebrate with him then).
Hmm, what are the chances that the weather will be nice enough that weekend that a nice picnic would appeal to all and sundry?
Would it be totally wrong of me to offer the idea of a Saturday brunch, say, 11ish?
It would not be wrong at all, and we have many options for said brunch. BBQ & blues, chi-chi fusion, bowling & organic food (which has the advantage of being close to Dreamworks and the tattoo parlor), etc. I'm skewing towards south Minneapolis/Uptown, because that's where I live, but we can go other places in North or Downtown if people prefer. Or even to (gasp! horror!) St. Paul.
