Well, it's just good to know that when the chips are down and things look grim you'll feed off the girl who loves you to save your own ass!

Because books.

Tell me I'm not evil for peeling the kitten off, putting her in the cat carrier, locking her in the bedroom in it, and turning up Pentangle to drown her out while I try to get some work done?

Of course not. Kitten mamas need sleep and food, too.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Can you e me with some of them?

We'll send it to you over the weekend, Deb. Good luck with the kitten.

It really doesn't matter. It's just an opinion. Don't worry about it. Not worth the hassle.

Heh. Thanks, Hec. She's terrified and frantic; she was orphaned in the middle of an abandoned factory - the found some rattlesnakes in there, so hunting around last night with the security guard in the dark was, um, interesting. I doubt she's quite three weeks yet, but she thinks I'm mom, and she's very cross because there are no nipples growing out of my hand. We've tried deking her, but no luck. Right now, her tentative working title is the same as Plei's Lilibran: we've been referring to her as the Squeakaboo.

I am not calling the Ramada back today. I'm goofy with sleep dep.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

Lilibran

This sounds like a baby that's a muffin.

BWAH! I am so. damned. tired. And writing a ghost story. LilyBEAN.

But the kitten is Squeakaboo. Will likely get shortened to Squeak, or possibly Bubble. Or Shere Khan, if the stripes stay where they are. Tiny torty tiger.

I need to get hold of various bits of info about Travelling Around San Francisco: visitors' passes, etc. Will make a list early next week.

I do have a question for Abi - in the event SF gets picked, we may have a problem with credit card hotel depositss, since Nic and I dumped ours. I am looking at Minimal Plastic, down the line.

Oh, lord, Khaled on my cell phone, ringing from the Ramada again. My phone plays a ringtone that's a riff from "She's A Rainbow". Damn it, dude, third call today. I aint callin' back until I'm awake...

Woe to the fucking wicked.

Duly noted, Deb. Right now, I'm going with burning that bridge when we cover it. I don't think I can put it on mine, as I do not believe I have sufficient credit limit, but I think we'll probably be able to find someone who can.

City Pimpage (tm) is due by the close of business PST on the 22nd. We will vote from the 26th through the 29th in the evening. So, you've got till Monday. If you have rought drafts availble for comment, please send to me, first. I'll look it over and make sure everything that needs to be there is, and then open it to public posting/comment.

Will do my damnedest. Am I allowed to wax lyrical? I tend to go on like Hemingway did about Paris when talking about San Francisco. Or is nice and dry preferred?

DebetEsse - Aug 19, 2005 4:02:38 pm PDT #4495 of 10001
Woe to the fucking wicked.

Concise is preferred through most of it, but a "waxing lyrical" section would not go amiss.

Do you have the City Pimpage Form?

Probably. But I'm so damned tired and overextended, I'll probably break down and start sobbing if I have to look and can't find it. Can you hook me up without too much hassle for you? If not, I'll try to cope.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

No problem, Deb. Just keep the kitty as happy as possible

City Pimpage (tm) Format:

City # Hotel blurbs (cost, ammenities, Prom & HS plans, parking, etc), plus a few Things to Do in the immediate area. Try to keep it short. # Alternate Hotel Stuff option: what we're looking at being able to get for each/any price level (all under $99/room). * # Transportation (public transit, especially. Where does it go? It is reliable? Easy to navigate?) # Number of locals and/or approximate free beds available # Anything else you'd like to highlight (or that other people have highlighted.) # Concerns, based on the above and other discussion.

(* I will be wicked pissy if you give us a list of all the ammenities of all the hotels in that range and don't say, "more or less any 3 of the following", or something. Don't be pitching us pool and free full breakfast if we won't be able to get both in one place.)

For those just joining the pimping: the rules of the hotel-choosing: # Rooms must be available in the hotel for under $100, or as close as possible # High-Speed Internet must be available in the room # The hotel must have easy access (through proximity or public transit) to things to do # Easy Handicapped access, especially to Hospitality Suite and Prom Room # Prom venues must be within staggering distance of the hotel, if not within the hotel itself
