I sent our IFB (what DOES that stand for?)
Invitation for bids, IIRC.

Plan what to do, what to wear (you can never go wrong with a corset), and get ready for the next BuffistaCon: San Francisco, May 19-21, 2006! Everything else, go here! Swag!

Such a smart sweet Canadian.
Even your plane crashes are polite.
I'm sure everyone got off that plane in an orderly and civilized fashion (and thank goodness that they apparently all got out of there).
The fact that no one was killed. What could be more polite than that?
It's like the plane was thinking, "oh dear, plumetting now, better be careful not to squash anyone inside of me."
Abi, that figure of under $100?
I can tell you right off, there won't be one in this neck of the woods for under $100 that also includes the hotel tax. No false pretenses, here. The $99 rate is pre-tax, period.
If that's an issue, let me know now, and Seattle and Vegas and Phoenix and wherever else can duke it out.
I don't think you could do it in Seattle, either, not in a hotel that has the amenities and location we want.
Should we raise the limit to $125, then?
Lets see what the organizers have come up with - we discussed at the beginning of this that below $100 was strongly preferred, so I know everyone's been cost-conscious in looking at options. In some places, it's going to be more feasible than others, but let's see what we've got.
I didn't realize the rule was that ALL the hotel options HAD to be under $100. For me, it'd be great if there were cheaper options that I could weigh other positives and negatives against but I still want to see what else the point people have found. Especially since the price of the hotel isn't going to matter whatsoever to the peeps that are able to score floor space with the locals (SF or Seattle).
Why have I never said wicked pissy before? FTR, my co-workers are going to hear it come out of my mouth quite a bit today.
Given that the last two hotels we used were all over $109/night or more excluding hotel taxes, I would think that proposals for $99/night excluding taxes are still an improvement and we should include them.
