I would be happy to pitch in on Seattle. I can easily do long distance research and communicate with hotels via the interbunny and ask locals reconaissance questions about locations, etc.
Cindy, Deb, and Trudy, that's actually what I was kind of hoping someone would say--and Trudy, that would be great.
If Seattle is the city chosen, I firmly believe I'll be in a good position to work my event planner mojo when needed. It's just the next few months that are looking impossible.
Susan, I was planning on checking w/ Plei and seeing how much of the planning we could pull away from you. The only reason I hadn't spoken up is because I was trying to figure out if you needed it as a welcome distraction, or if it was going to overwhelm you.
Well, that and the fact that I am dreadful at event planning. But I can work around that.

The odd thing is, some kinds of work are a welcome distraction--my novel page count has soared in the past few days--but my logistics/detail energy has always had its limits, and right now what I have is 100% taken up by job search and the editor cancelation/replacement crisis for the October writers conference (a much more trivial but very time-consuming issue that came up after I volunteered).
