I look more rad than Lutheranism

intergalactic planetary planetary intergalactic

Is this a Salad Shooter thing? (aka, trying to keep Steph the Troll from creating a kerfluffle?) Because I have no idea what in the hell "intergalactic planetary planetary intergalactic" means.

[edit: I'm really sick and about to see the doctor, so I am perhaps crankier and quicker to snap than I normally am.]

Old Hash:

Well, the final vote was 23 for NO, 20 for KC, 17 for Minneapolis, and 10 for Toronto. The issue was - couldn't tell who of those not voting for NO did not intend to go if it did end up being there. Unfortunately, that ended up being a lot, I think. My intention when I voted (for NO) was to go (no matter where the vote took us). Didn't end up happening, much to my regret. If I hadn't intended to go at all at the time of the vote, I wouldn't have voted. That's just me. So, I don't think it was a case of, "I have no intention of going, but I'm voting anyway," so much as, "Well, I'll go if this wins, but I can't if that wins." Only there was no way to read that from the final count. That's why I like the will go/might go/can't go option. But that's not how we all decided to do it last year.

Perkins did post to the effect that she was concerned about numbers Perkins "F2F 3: Who's Bringing the Guacamole?" Dec 28, 2004 7:44:07 am PST , and I suggested doing a headcount survey before locking in to hotel rooms JenP "F2F 3: Who's Bringing the Guacamole?" Dec 28, 2004 9:24:22 am PST , but the momentum of the conversation didn't fall that way. No big, just the way it goes sometimes depending on who's around at the time you throw out a suggestion. I would have felt pushy and pill-ish if I'd kept pressing after that.

New Hash:

Keeping it at around $100 would be ideal for me. I'd go higher if necessary, but I like it as a target.

In terms of what I'd prefer - I'm still looking forward to seeing the options. Not sure what's going to appeal most in the end.

(edited for double negative confusion)

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

What-what? Trolly Steph? What did I miss?

And I have no idea either.

How are you me? You need to stop that. Only I can be me. ~Kara

Oops.

Sorry.

I just said it because BT said to say it if I agreed with you, Steph. I could have just said I agree.

Still sorry. Also a little amused.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Because I have no idea what in the hell "intergalactic planetary planetary intergalactic" means.

It's a song. (And that will make my envy comment make more sense as well.)

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

Is this a Salad Shooter thing? (aka, trying to keep Steph the Troll from creating a kerfluffle?) Because I have no idea what in the hell "intergalactic planetary planetary intergalactic" means.

Nah, it's a song by the Beastie Boys. I'm sure ita will be happy to sing it for you. Or just quietly, in her head, over and over again.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I would have felt pushy and pill-ish if I'd kept pressing after that.

Me too, Jen, and thanks for finding that. I thought about it, but then decided I was too lazy.

What-what? Trolly Steph? What did I miss?

Well, you know how in other threads, people have started long inane Salad Shooter conversations to try to derail a troll?

Since I have (or had) no idea that the intergalactic thing was from a song, I thought people were spouting gibberish to get me off-track from daring to suggest a change to The Way Things Are Done.

But now I am musically educated.

What is even happening?

Oh. Trolly = troll-y. I thought we were making an iconic San Francisco transportation reference. I need donuts.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

I'm uncomfortable with anything beyond walking distance from the hotel.

I'd echo this, as the idea of depending on the amount of cat-herding it would take to get 40-60 Buffistas into a small number of limos leaving at a set time is the sort of thing that wakes me with cold sweat in the middle of the night. Individual cab travel in an unfamiliar city with time pressure can take a bite out of an evening's fun, too.

Some of the Posting Board Parties in L.A. used an outside venue about 3 or 4 blocks from the host hotel, and that seemed to work out pretty well. It was near enough that the walk wasn't onerous, and enough people walked in groups afterwards that those who enjoyed themselves a little too much had watchful eyes nearby and help available if needed.
