I just think it's rather odd that a nation that prides itself on its virility should feel compelled to strap on forty pounds of protective gear just in order to play rugby.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

Did you guys end up going to the S&S?

KRISTIN IS COMING TO NEW YORK FOR THE DAY.

THAT IS ALL!

S to the A -- using they/them pronouns!

Okay, you people might get Kristen. You might get Drew.

I beat you all hands down, as I get the Fay.

We've had a terrifically eventful two days, beginning with the airport and ending in her hometown. While I wouldn't classify them as "unfortunate events," exactly, they've been colourful. They've involved livejournal meetups, beer, and gaping head wounds. As well as free books! And lost comics. There have been planes, trains, and automobiles; teh gay, teh not-so-gay, and the amusing as hell; tons of fannish discussion, resulting in amusing looks from those around us; and quite a bit of ham.

I wouldn't change a damn thing. I promise we'll put up pictures soon.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Best description evah, SA!

Well, I try. *g*

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

I must reassure you that we were neither the recipients nor the cause of the gaping head wound, although SA did do a heroic job of trying to patch up my inebriated friend, who now has a very large hole in his head. Bless. It's quite remarkable how much we managed to fit into a very short time in the London - not only hooking up with the lovely Roz and Paratti from LJ (and Roz's very nice, stylish, pink-haired friend), but also an assortment of other fannish LJ types whom we didn't know from Adam. (One of whom had just read my fanfic magnum opus! go me! f2f ego-massage!) And then, I'm afraid, I managed to drag SA around every conceivable tube station in London. It's all a haze of jetlag now, and I can only thank my lucky stars that SHE knew where we were going, because I (and, remember, I lived in London for four years) really didn't know whether I was coming or going. Frankly, had it not been for SA I feel reasonably sure I'd have been run over within five minutes of being in the country - the traffic here is SO different from that in Egypt. I'm now used to walking in the middle of the road and expecting cars and donkeys and suchlike to just not hit me, whereas in London? Not such a sensible move. Really. Sigh.

Anyway, Bwahahahahahaa! I get to kidnap SA for several days and show her the sights here in the Yorkshire! And, insh'allah, we'll go and see some movies - I'm SO out of the loopy here, and so longing to see the Lemony Snicket movie, and The Incredibles and so on and so forth.

(Incidentally, as I type SA's laptop is showing us a vast array of different photos, many of which are from the F2Fs, so we're busy going "Oooh, Plei! Ooooh, David! Ooooh, Drew!" etc etc. Bless. Love y'all.

Now when's someone going to come and visit me in Cairo? Eh?

Hint hint.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Now when's someone going to come and visit me in Cairo? Eh?

As soon as I find the winning lottery numbers, I'll be there.

S to the A -- using they/them pronouns!

Really? (This is Fay, btw, despite looking unaccountably younger and slimmer and more curly-haired)

Are you just leading me on here? 'Cause that would be VERY fabulous.
