BIG GAY PIRATE SHOW AT TREASURE ISLAND!
F2F 3: Who's Bringing the Guacamole?
Plan what to do, what to wear (you can never go wrong with a corset), and get ready for the next BuffistaCon: San Francisco, May 19-21, 2006! Everything else, go here! Swag!
There's nothing interesting outdoors in Vegas.
What, looking at atom bomb test sites isn't interesting?
BIG GAY PIRATE SHOW AT TREASURE ISLAND!
That was down because it was being revamped the last time I was there. And our friends were STAYING there. *sigh*

Lived there for a year and couldn't agree with you more.

IT HAS GIRLIE PIRATES NOW!
Oh, has anyone heard from Gus? I emailed him last week to the two addresses I have for him and I haven't heard back yet. (I did use the keyword that gets one past his spam filter.)
VEGAS HAS AVENUE Q!!!
(I'd love Vegas, but I'm not get all bitchy if it isn't there. I'm just underslept and a bit hyper.)
Was there a substantial payoff to the earlier deadlines that I'm missing?
Earlier hotel reservation which got us a cut rate on the room block. Actually with NO, if we'd not made decisions pretty early we most likely couldn't have gotten a room block anywhere in the French Quarter. The ballrooms in the area were booked solid with weddings by the time our block came up as well. Some folks did take advantage of booking a flight earlier to get a cheaper flight. I was about to block out the dates on my calender early enough to make sure that I could keep work away from those dates.
I think Vegas is a fine and dandy idea! I'll be there at New Year's Eve as well. I love Vegas. Been there in the middle of summer and the middle of winter and never really had a huge problem. The shows like the pirate show and the volcano happen at night when it's not bad to be outside. It's the desert which means that it cools off pretty nicely once the sun goes down.
Sorry if "blow it" sounded harsh. I only meant it in the strictest "financial availability to the most possible people" sense.
The F2F was great - the only thing missing was more Buffista goodness.
Organizers (past, present, people who have done this sort of thing): At what point are we going to be paying premiums for late decisions, especially wrt prom space and hotel?
I think it would still be prudent to get dates set soon, so that people can ask for time off. I think waiting may actually result in decreased turn-out, if people can't get time off. So, let's say, date vote in 2 weeks or so? The 10th and 11th? How does that sound?
