Once again I am traveling the week of the F2F. I'll be in Salt Lake City the 16th - 18th or so, then home and frantic turn around to New Orleans.
The really tough part is that Brendon is supposed to be playing in a basketball tournament that week so his choice is either basketball or no SLC and no NOLA. This assumes his team wins early in the week and is still playing on the weekend.
Ugh. He probably won't make up his mind for a while.
Hey, did Brendon ever get his Utilikilt? I'm up to 5 of them now.
He hasn't! I need to get on that right away so that it is ready in time. He did want one. It needs to be of the big and tall variety because a short kilt just wouldn't be right.
They make them in all shapes and sizes, so I'm sure they can fit him as needed. Give them a call, they are really nice folks.
But surely he has the legs for it!
Okay, running the numbers again on the F2F 2005 and here's where we are at.
Main fund: $735 (Minus some paypal fees)
Travel Fund: $40
We are about 6 and a half weeks away from the event and we're still pretty short on cash. I've also had a few folks ask about money from the travel fund.
Beyond this we're racing up on the cutoff date for meeting our minimum number of hotel rooms. I believe that date is April 20th, so we're just under three weeks until that. I'm sure Kristin will post totals of where we are at with room resevations soon, but I don't think we're anywhere near the occupancy that we need to me.
I'm not intending to cry wolf quite yet, but just encouraging folks that if you tend to procrastinate, please don't.
Whoops, I'll be making a hotel res this weekend. Thanks for the reminder.
My memory is being faulty, but we did have someone step forward to be our coordinator for airport arrivals and such, correct?
As folks start to make airline reservations we can begin to look at sharing cabs and such.
I'm staying Wednesday to Wednesday so I'm planning to do my own thing. I'm also planning to setup the hosp suite Friday as soon as we are able to gain access to it. There are a handful of items that are really helpful to have, and if folks are driving/local and can help out with them, it would be wonderful.
1. Dry Eraseboard and Corkboard
2. 3x5 cards
3. Some pens and dry erase markers
4. An ice chest or two
5. Disposable solo cups
6. Maps/guidebooks for the area that we can post
7. List of restaurants in the area that we can post
I'll also be working on some of this when I get into town, but would love to have folks helping out.
Does a local have a DVD player that they can bring so that we're able to set it up in the hosp suite as well?
I have a guidebook I'd be willing to share. I knew it was the one true guidebook when, in the section on Mardi Gras, it had instructions on how to get beads (or anything else thrown from a float) away from a child (grasp firmly and pull upwards, if you're curious).

Doesn't your (or someone else's) PowerBook have S-Video output?
