And the thing is, I like my evil like I like my men: evil. You know, straight up, black hat, tied to the train tracks, soon my electro-ray will destroy metropolis BAD.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

Thanks Vortex. I had to search back to remember the name of the restaurant, so I figured I might as well put the links in while I was at it.

We're all getting played with, babe. -Weird Barbie

Laura, the page rocks.

A couple of things--there's a mistake in my text toward the bottom that talks about "free finger foods" (I had corrected that in a later post--we will be paying for the appetizers up front, but they are not techincally free). You could probably just cut that part.

Also, there's shuttle that goes directly from the airport to the hotel for something like...$25 round trip, and it's evidently by far the cheapest way to get in. Is that on there? I think I may be blind, so apologies if so.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

If it's the same shuttle I took in January, it's $13 per person each way. (The taxis charge $28 for 1 or 2 people, and an extra $12 per person after that, so after tipping it works out more or less even with the shuttle.)

Our wings are not tired.

Changes made.

Wow! So many places to go and things to do. Both times I was there I didn't really do much in the way of touristy stuff. The first time I did a marathon, so walking much was pretty much out of the question, then I went on business and didn't get to play.

I'll probably seek tiny group meals. On my must list is a good cemetery tour. DH always enjoys playing pool while I prefer bowling. The GF that plans on joining us loves to shop. I may seek a roomie for her; I'll check.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

On my must list is a good cemetery tour.

I can give tips on this.

This is the local New Orleans cemetary preservation group.

Here are the tours for the two cemetaries I've visited: Lafayette and St. Louis.

St. Louis is older, right at the top of the quarter. It has some famous people in it (Marie Laveau, Paul Morphy), but while it's historically interesting, Lafayette is way more visually interesting and cooler to visit. The tombs are more varied in Lafayette. It really is like a City of the Dead, with streets laid out under shady trees. It's gorgeous and fascinating and right across the street from Commander's Palace.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

Hey, Hec spells cemetery the same way I do. I feel all validated and stuff.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I had dinner with Dana tonight. It was fun - we tried to fine a place with a semi-authentic Texas experience, so I ended up eating a huge prime rib and a "Texas Margarita". And a big honkin' key lime pie covered with a shitload of whipped cream.

I have pictures, but am on dialup so I'll have to post them Wed. or Thurs.

Oh, and I have to note Dana's niceness, as she paid for my dinner.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

The steak might actually have been as big as his head. Or mine. Or someone's head.

Yeah, I was going to post about that at some point - you can buy a ticket at the aquarium that covers admission to the aquarium, the zoo, and a boat trip from one to the other. I don't know if the boat trip is round trip, however. I'll also venture that the zoo will probably be pretty hot. The aquarium, however, is fabulous and indoors.
