Mal: Then I call it a win. What's the problem? Inara: Should I start with the part where you're stranded in the middle of nowhere, or the part where you have no clothes?

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

skulks into thread looking all sheepish

Grovelingly begging for LAista help...

Hec and I are coming down to LA for a Lost in the Grooves reading at Vroman's in Pasadena on Saturday. Due to various aggravating circumstances, (a) we can only come down for Friday and Saturday nights instead of taking a proper 3-day weekend, and (b) scheduling got snafu'd with the old college friend of Hec's who was going to put us up, so now we have no place to stay. We can suck it up and get a motel room somewhere, but money was already tight and is now somewhat worse since we can't even make it down there without first coughing up $600+ for badly needed car repairs.

This is incredibly short notice and we feel all shuffly and embarrassed, but is there any LAista who could maybe let us crash in a corner of your living room or something this Friday and Saturday? We'd be absurdly grateful. We'd clean, we'd make you vodka tonics and spanakopita, we'd treat you to chicken and waffles for Sunday brunch.

Anyone who thinks there might be even a tiny possibility of helping us out, please send either Hec or me or both an email at our profile addresses.

slinks back out looking all sheepish

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

JZ, you are welcome to stay with me, with the proviso that my apartment is a complete and utter wreck right now, and it's not going to be changing much between now and Friday.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Is a passport required to travel to/from Canada these days?

ND, know anyone who could get me an Expo day pass? I might be able to hang at USITT on that saturday.

Not off the top of my head, but I'll see what I can scare up. Check with Sail, ETC may have some free passes.
