yes, I've driven Chicago to NO and back before....
When I was in college, my parents drove to NOLA from Southern Wisconsin. Easily done in 2 days, or 1 if you really want to push yourself.

Plan what to do, what to wear (you can never go wrong with a corset), and get ready for the next BuffistaCon: San Francisco, May 19-21, 2006! Everything else, go here! Swag!

Hmmm. I might want to get in on that action. Especially cause it means I can introduce you to a lot of my CDs.
Cool! But I'll need to know by tomorrow...
Kidding.
Anyway, roadtrips are a lot more fun with when you're not by yourself.
Yeah, my only qualm is the extra days-take-offage. The way next semester's shaping up, though, the F2F is going to be a few weeks after my prelims, so it may be a much-needed escape.
I've done Detroit to NO and back -- once slowly, once fast. Fast was pretty horrible, slowly was kinda boring.
How many hours was that?
Fast was 4pm to about 10 am the next day. Slow was three days, no night driving.
Hey, beathen, let's drive down to NOLA! It's only like twenty hours
ROADTRIP!!! I've never done one that long with non-relatives - could be fun!
I'm thinkin' of driving. And yes, I've driven Chicago to NO and back before
If people are gonna carpool I'd definately get in on it, although we couldn't drive my car - it wouldn't survive that trip. I don't think it'd be a problem to get a few days off from work since I'm not planning any days off from January to April anyway.
Re F2F activities: It should be noted, for clarity's sake, that the bowling expedition at the LA F2F was bowling with feathers, ballgowns and tiaras, and was either immediately preceded or immediately followed by a field trip to Sephora.
I think it was predecessed. It was in the mall, I remember that, because I went to Sephora with Jilli and Plei, and bought nifty shoes with Sean.

It was a glorious thing. Jilli stamping her feet petulantly at pins refusing to drop, Fay giggling like a mad thing, JZ in her Victorian gown, calling up Holli on the phone.
