Zoe: I thought you wanted to spend more time off-ship this visit. Wash: Out there is seems like it's all fancy parties. I like our party better. The dress code is easier and I know all the steps.

If I want to become a cloud of bats, does each bat need a separate vaccination?

Oh my god y'all, I just downloaded Google Maps to my phone and it is *awesome*! (I'm on a train.)

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Sure, but is it as awesome as Wiikitties?

Hey. New board.

I'm trying to set up a message board with a format similar to b.org - limited threads for all topics, etc. Right now I'm using Simple Machines Forum, set so that members cannot post new topics, but it's not ideal - all the permissions for moderators and stuff are designed around the idea of a communty with lots of topics (example: there's a "move topic" option, but not a "move reply" option, which would be needed to move posts to the correct thread.) You generally feel like you're using crippled software, which is basically true, since it's designed to work differently.

Can anybody suggest any message board software that's designed to work in this format?

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Random question of the day: Has anyone had trouble with getting their new generation ipods to turn off? I know how you're supposed to do it, obviously, but it doesn't seem to be working.

Mmm, I only have a 4g one. By chance is it plugged into a power source (dock? wall outlet? etc.)? Have you tried leaving it in pause and not touching it? It takes about 5 min, but it will power down.

Or rather, go in sleep mode. So it can boot faster. Were you wanting it to completely turn off?

Yes, and no. (I tried all combinations of plugged in/not I could think of). It stays in full-on on mode until the battery wears out, even if left on pause. I think it's broken.

Lee, sounds like a visit to the nearest Apple Store's Genius Bar is in order!

Yep. Or in my case, a trip to G., who is my equivalent.

Our wings are not tired

Anyone else using Aperture? I got it for Christmas and it's currently importing photos on my G5. Looks to be pretty slick and should really help with working with RAW format images. mainly wondering if anyone else is using it and if they have any tips or tricks.
