Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Windows?

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Heh.

Nope, DOS 5.0 came with a file manager thingie (that was somewhat patterned after the Windows 3.0 (I think) file manager). It also had a program launcher and task swapper.

ION,

If you use the google reader, does it show up in you google "my account" page?

Yeah, as soon as I snarked, the hub got that "I know exactly the file manager thingie you mean, but I can't remember the name either" look.

Oh, and does anyone remember the Leading Edge Word Processor? I wanna get that working in my DOS virtual machine - I did a shitload of creative writing back in the day on my Leading Edge XT clone.

Oh, and is there a way to create iso files in OS X that does't involve the command line? [link]

Toast can do it, right? I should install that on my MacBook.

Applications -> Utilites -> Disk Utility

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

What was the graphical file manager thingie that came with DOS 5.0 called?

I can see it in my head, but I rarely used it. I was an early convert to XTree. Even now (as in, like, yesterday) I still occasionally use a Win32 replacement for it called ZTree.

Oh, and does anyone remember the Leading Edge Word Processor?

Heh. I still have the copy that came with my Leading Edge clone.

Huh. I was looking at that. I see how to make a dmg file and a cdr file, but....

And yeah, I've used disk utility in the past to make an iso (on earlier versions of OS X).

eta:

To create an ISO image in OS X, use Disk Utility to burn a new image choosing “CD/DVD Master” as the Image Format. That creates an image with the cdr extension. Just rename the cdr file extension to iso and there you have it!

Oh. That's intuitive.
