Fun!! The keyboard actually enters exactly what I'm typing. It's like a miracle.
Got a question about technology? Ask it here. Discussion of hardware, software, TiVos, multi-region DVDs, Windows, Macs, LINUX, hand-helds, iPods, anything tech related. Better than any helpdesk!

So, is ipodlounge.com the best site to point people to if they have questions about their new-for-Christmas iPods? Apparently lots of my co-workers got iPods, and most of them are confused about using iTunes and their work PCs.
(Bless their little hearts, they've all decided I am the person with knowledge about All Things iPod; partially because they've all seen me using mine every day, but also because I look odd, and therefore must understand Apple computer widgits.)
Well, it's not a terribly wrong conclusion. ::grin::
Speaking of things gotten for Christmas, I'm going to talk to my IT department (but hold out little hope)--I got a jump drive with the idea that I could then easily get things between my home and work computers....but today tried to use it at work, and didn't seem to get anything, becuase it's Windows NT. Am I right in suspecting NT is eeeeevil? (The support page for the specific product said for Win98 you needed a driver, and for Win2000 and XP you didn't....but didn't mention NT).
Ever since I bought my iBook, it's been my favorite computer ever. Well, my Apple cube arrived today and it's my new favorite. Such a beautiful design (along with the 17" Apple LCD display I bough). It has no cooling fan so it's eerie how it's completely silent.

I just gotta get Airport, bluetooth and a wireless keyboard and mouse. Then I have to decide: upgrade the 450 mhz G4 processor to a 1.7 Ghz processor, or two 1.5 Ghz processors....

When your cube is reduced to a blob of melted plastic, you know where to find another...
For anything but copying music from an iPod to your computer, [link] is a good source of information.

Hey, people do it with add-in boards designed especially for the Cube. There are three companies that offer them. (Of course, cooling fans are required.) eg: [link]
From the "I'll believe it when I see it" file: [link]
Think Secret claims Apple will release a $499 monitorless iMac.
The problem is, this kind of thing has popped up often over the years.
/me finds a large chunk of salt.

I'm remembering the MacChimney. Looked like the Tin Man's hat. Or Tom Teriffic's.
