Do I go to AOL to get a screenname?
I got mine so long ago I don't remember, but yeah, I'm sure there's a link on aol.com.
Got a question about technology? Ask it here. Discussion of hardware, software, TiVos, multi-region DVDs, Windows, Macs, LINUX, hand-helds, iPods, anything tech related. Better than any helpdesk!

If you have a .mac account, then you don't need an AOL screenname also.
So, my missweber AT mac DOT com means that "missweber" would work as my AIM screen name?
Sorry to be such a doof, but I get quite confuzzled when it comes to cross-platform stuff.
anyone here have ReplayTV? opinions? it's about $50 cheaper than Tivo and seems to have all the same features. so that's why i'm asking.
I love it. But I've never had Tivo.

If I had my iBook with me, I could answer this. But I think it's the full email address, not just the first part.
eta: I was right. My user profile has my AIM screen name....
Hey y'all. I know I've gone through this here before, but now I really need to buy a new computer. I just checked, and my current machine only has 128 MB of RAM, and a 5 GB hard drive. So basically, any cheapo thing for sale today will be hugely better, right? Aside from the part where it's slowly dying on me, the main issue is that my hard drive is full.
Does anyone know what the story is on the new 'copyright protected' cds? I'm seeing that label show up more now, and I got one on a cd for Christmas. I loaded the cd onto my iPod, but when I went to listen to it, the entire thing is completely garbled. I mean, I own the cd, the computer, and the iPod. I'm Miss Legal Music 2004. Will I be able to get it to work?
Ah, that brings up my other thing -- right now I have a laptop, and I love sitting on the sofa with it, but I feel like it would be better for me, school-work-wise, to be forced to sit at my desk. I'm looking at this, anyway.
But I think it's the full email address, not just the first part.
Thanks. I'll give it a try once I'm at home on my own computer.
