Yeah, I think Disk Warrior is what the cool kids are using. I concur with Daniel's diagnosis of possible culprits.

Holy crap.
The RED ONE digital video camera was just announced at NAB. It has comparable specs to the high-end Panavision digital camera (at least as far as the electronics go. I can't say anything about the optics). While you can only lease Panavision's camera, the RED ONE will sell for $17,500.
Apple is now selling a 17" MacBook Pro and it even includes firewire 800.
ahem.
ME WANT NOW!
I'll have to take a look at the finances over the next few months.

Dude. Tivo is offering an 80-hour box that will record two channels at once! I've never parted with cash so fast in my life. - $250 including a year of service. Also has built in ethernet.
Press release from TiVo about the Series 2 DT model.
Man, I wish I knew the timing on the HDTV one for sure.
Nah, I'll wait.

I was just thinking this.

I'm having slightly more trouble thinking this.
HDTV is for people with, you know, decent TVs. So no issue for me as of yet.
I don't have an HDTV compatible TV. But I plan to, and there's no point me replacing a TiVo with a slightly better TiVo knowing a much better one's on the calendar.
So that's my holdup.
I'm with ita. Plus I already have two Tivo's, one series 1 and one series 2, both with lifetime subscriptions. I'm hoping (in vain, I suspect), that there will be a tempting trade-in offer of my series 1 when the series 3 debuts.

ita is me in this regard. Also I don't necessarily know if Tivo sans lifetime subscription is necessarily more appealing than just renting an HD-DVR from my cable company.
