Your Mac Mini may already be a PC: [link]

Coding and Sleeping

I'd agree that that for the same form factor, the Mini is price competitive. But if the form factor isn't important, you can get a far more powerful PC with a much faster processor, more memory, and much more hard drive space. I can't see a reason for Apple to release OSX for PCs though. A good part of what makes Macs special is the hardware/OS integration. If OSX has to support all the variations in the PC world then it detract from the user experience.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

On one of the Mac sites I was recommending last week, there's a really good essay explaining why Apple is not going to make Mac OS X available to other manufacturer's PCs.

As of 4/15, TiVo will no longer sell lifetime subscriptions.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

What's the best way to add USB ports to a G5? It seems like the most space-saving way would be through one of the PCI slots, but the reviews here make me very suspicious of the workability.

How about this one? [link]

Our wings are not tired

What vintage G5 is it? If it's a new one then you have to use PCIe cards, which are not backwards compatible and which make getting cards kind of a pain.

I bought it last May, so it's almost exactly a year old.

Why do you want more USB ports? Wouldn't a USB hub be easier?
