They warn you not to use the "backspace" button (I think they actually meant the "back" button in the browser toolbar. I didn't. However, I did use the Window menu in Firefox to select the window to make it active again after having browsed at something else. The page lost every bit of info I had entered into it. GRRRRRR.

In Windows XP, when I'm connecting to another machine in a workgroup, what can I do to change the name with which I use to connect to the other machine?
ETA: For instance, when trying to connect to another machine on my company's internet, I'm required to log into the site with the username workgroup(backslash)danielj, but the ability to change is greyed out, and the name is workgroup(backslash)guest, and I can't recall how to change the default name.

The shares being up doesn't surprise me. My first thought is that that move by Apple will make it easier to move into the enterprise market. They were already making gains there with OS X, but now that businesses know they can still run Windows natively when they want, I think things are really going to open up. The only reason I bought a PC was because voice recognition has the lead there and you can't use Virtual PC to run Dragon Naturally Speaking.

I can tell you right now, I won't be testing that on my Macbook.
I'm torn as to whether it's a good thing or a bad thing. Yes, people might be more willing to switch if Macs can run Windows, but if that means we get a spate of people running exclusively Windows on the machines... that's bad. So I guess we'll see.

If you run Windows on your mac, does that mean your Mac is vulnerable to Windows viruses? Personally, I can't see why I'd want to put Windows on my Mac. Seems to defeat the purpose of having a Mac.
