the "n" key is missing
Jilli, I called Dell and they said that if the laptop is still under warranty, they will send you an entire new keyboard to replace it. The part is customer-servicable.
I got a direct number for you to call them. It's 800.822.8965, option 1, then x.7288538. They'll want either the Service Tag or Express Service Code from the machine.
Hope this is helpful.
ETA: If you do find a spare key, here's a howto on installing it [link]

Hmm. While tempting, I'll have to check with my boss as to what company policy is about warranty services. But thank you for finding the link on how to install a spare key! That's probably my best bet, at this point.
Refurbed iPod Minis are back on Apple's store: [link]
I had a key that popped off my old Toshiba laptop and wouldn't reseat itself. I found a spare keyboard on eBay and transplanted only the key I needed, avoiding having to swap out the whole thing. The mechanism was similar to the Dell link above and it only takes a couple of seconds to fix.

Methanol-based fuel cells for laptops on their way.
Feh.
My Xbox is apparently one of the bum ones. Less than two months after Drew gave it to me, it's telling me that it can't read all the games and refuses to spin up. Cheap-ass Microsoft claims that this is somehow not their fault.
Bite me.
Anyone know of a way to fix the thing without coughing up $79, or am I screwed?
Dude, that SUCKS, Kristin!
Um, I have no helpful advice, sadly. The warranty isn't any good?
Where did he buy it, Kristen? Sometimes the retailers have a little more guilt....
a Dell Latitude D600, whatever that may mean
I have that same computer (and I'm typing on it right now AIFG); the "n" key in particular is a weak point in the keyboard constructure; we have no less than 1000 of them here on campus, and that's a constant wear-and-tear fix. Luckily keyboards are under general wear and tear, and can be replaced quite easily; you do have to replace the whole keyboard, though, not simply one letter.
Wireless router question: I just got my parents a Linksys Compact Wireless-G router for their new house, and I'm running into some problems with the thing. Everything's connected, and my wireless card is picking it up and getting an IP; however, nothing is actually
connecting.
I can't get anything on the web to ping, and I've reset the router a couple times. There's nothing wrong with the internet service, and I can't get fucking linksys on the phone. My battery died waiting for someone to pick up. And the chat people are useless. Help?
SA, is it working if you connect to it with a cable?
Also, some providers have websies on how to hook up a router, wat provider do they have?
Some broadband setups need special settings.
