And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Raisin Bran:

This was posted on the Tivo forums this morning:

I just got off the phone with Tivo tech support as I am having this same issue and missed the ending of 24 and Lost.

Apparently, it is a software issue and Tivo is working on a patch that will be downloaded automatically when your Tivo connects. He says until then, there is nothing we can do about it.

So it looks like we're out of luck until the patch comes through.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

maybe I haven't been watching network tv shows. I haven't had any problems so far.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

I had no problems with 24 and Lost this week. I wonder why it's only messing up on some TiVos?

I had no problems with 24, but everything since Tuesday has been cut off.

They usually roll out software upgrades in waves -- it may be that only one wave had the bug in it, and so only that segment of Tivo users were affected.

Can anyone help me out with needing more RAM? I'm all confused by the options...

So I have a 12" 1GHz Powerbook that I got in March 2004. It has 256MB of RAM, which is....really not enough.

So I'm wanting to buy more. But I don't quite get what my options are...or why there are so many. I know people here have recommended other world computing but I look at that page and go "Uhhhhh....I don't know which one to get!". I don't understand the difference between them! Ack! Help! (I think I'd be wanting to get the 1gig, but if 512 is enough, would be glad to save, since this damn laptop battery is ALSO needing replacement desperately....)

S to the A -- using they/them pronouns!

Hmmm. I'm not sure I'd like a digital click wheel.

Meara, I have some thoughts, but I suspect others will give you more coherent information.

Our wings are not tired

Get the 1 GB chip. This is the chip to order for your machine. I'm happy to put in it when you are out here if you don't feel comfortable with the installation.

Yep, that's what I was going to say (whew!) but I wasn't sure which powerbook you had and therefore how far you could expand your RAM.

Woohoo! Have ordered it, ND! Yay, seeing you this weekend!

Annoyingly, I just tried to return the FM transmitter I bought to the Apple store, but they pointed out that the return date was four days ago, and then figured out that the darn thing isn't actually *broken*, it just doesn't work with *my* iPod (which...my ipod still has a couple hours of battery, and synchs with my computer fine, so...who knew?). GRR. I do not want to throw $60 down the drain. Yeesh.
