I'd like a USB port. Actually there is a car radio that has an USB port, but no factory units yet.
What they really need is a short-range wireless standard that is adequate for audio streaming so the car can play any compatible player that is in the cabin. Like phones with bluetooth.
Which car stereo has a USB port, Gud? That would be handy for us. And we don't have iPods, but we do have aux players, so it would be nice to be able to plug into an eighth inch jack for the laptop or the player or whatever. And we're Napster, so we're unlikely to go to iPod, even when we replace our current mp3 player. Yeah, a wireless solution would be nice.
The Optimus LCD keyboard is supposedly being released in February. The product page says it will cost "less than a mobile phone" which isn't terribly helpful since mobile phones can be awfully expensive.

It has a USB port, but how well it works is a question mark.
Not well, apparently: [link]
Samsung first to introduce dual-format DVD player
Now, we learn that Samsung will be the first manufacturer to release a device that is capable of playing both HD DVD and Blu-ray discs.
This is what we, and especially our US cousins, actually need. When it comes to High Definition content, the United States is far ahead of Europe. We still lack content, devices and the transition from Standard to High Definition is rather slow.
But it would be patently ridiculous to have to go out and buy two players, one for HD DVD and one for Blu-Ray. We checked some prices in the US and you will have to play at least $399 for a player - and that’s a lot of money. They are still not readily available in the stores but they will be in a month of two. In the USA, that is.
Samsung will be the first to deliver a combo drive but the others will soon follow, delivering a solution to this crazy dispute about standards. We will try to get some more information about the device itself and some of the specifications. It should come out this summer.
Does anyone use a color laser printer with photos? I'm curious how good the output is, I was asked and I have no idea.
Huh. Too bad. Maybe in the future.
I'm still waiting for them to ubiquitize the satellite radio so that I can also play my mp3s on the handheld unit. And it should also provide satellite internet access, including while traveling and in motion and on planes. And a phone. And maybe something where I can watch cooking shows and push a button and have the meal instantaneously delivered.
