Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Thanks -- I'll check those both out when I get home.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

For the curious who were following my iPod saga (probably none) I went ahead and bought an iTrip, swayed by the fact that it a) fit in my acessory case, and b) was on sale at Target.

I feel comfirmed in my belief that the Houston airways are way too crowded, but it does pretty well at 87.9, so for $20, I'm happy.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

I got the Monster one (don't know the name) for Christmas. I like that one.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Here's a handy tool -- compare TV sizes of different aspect ratios. (Useful for figuring out how your new flatscreen compares to your old tube.)

le nubian - I was gifted with the Monster one. It has been used around the Bay Area with much success.

This is why I like my new linux computer. I'm uploading a video file, downloading a video file (both on my local lan), encoding an mpeg2 file to divx, watching a wmv movie streaming off the internet, and posting here with everything running smoothly.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Yes, but can you manage your recipes and chart your biorhythms?

Well, sure, it's no BeOS but it's better than my old setup.

Our wings are not tired

One of the theatres I design at is still using the BeOS for their audio playback system.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

I have one cable channel that's all colored fuzz. Sadly, it's UPN, so I'd like to have it working before the new Veronica Mars. After waiting a very long time being told that my call was important, I got a person who kept insisting that I had to make sure the *television* channel was tuned to the channel. Both my cable box and television manuals say that you don't have to do any television channel programming, just put it on 3. After I hung up, I tried programming the television anyway. to no affect. Have any of you ever heard of that?

She kept saying, "We don't want to have to put in a service ticket, do we?" in the tones of a German prison guard.
