Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Yes, but

The Inbox of a Gmail account is used to store the files. Consequently, GMail Drive cannot accept files sized greater than 10 MB

I had thought that people used yousendit.com to exchange 350MB files. Where's the root of the lack of love?

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

Is there a file size limit on transfer by IM client?

eta: Yahoo!Messenger Help [link]

If the files you drag-and-drop are all image files (like JPEG or BMP files), an inline notification will give you the option of starting a Photo Sharing session. If you choose this option, your friend will be invited to photo sharing. If your friend accepts, your image files will appear in a side panel, and you will have access to additional features that make photo sharing more fun.

There is no limit to the size of files you can transfer, as long as neither you nor your friend are behind a firewall that prohibits peer-to-peer transfers. In that case, the file will be sent through Yahoo! servers, and file size is limited to 100 MB.

No idea whether sending 700Mb this way would be faster than sending a CD by USPS.

The generation that could change the world is still looking for its car keys.

There's all kinds of file splitter programs out there, most of them free. Like this one: [link]

All is well that ends in pizza.

Otherwise, you could set a machine up with FTP on an odd port, and enable your router to allow passage to that port for the duration of the gets or sends.

(Lots of variables involved)

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I know I have. It takes a long enough time that I usually think it's frozen, but it goes through eventually.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Maybe it's just playing hard to get? I got nothing, other than maybe a different browser.

The iTunes Music Store keeps coming with the hits lately. NBC has added a ton of old shows to the catalog including Knight Rider, Adam-12, Dragnet, and Alfred Hitchcock Presents. Looks like NBC is offering a show from each decade from the 1950s on, just to make sure Dad gets his Dragnet, and your older brother gets his Knight Rider. Hopefully people will realize that they need Hasslehoff on their iPod video shouting at KITT about some problem. Ahh NBC, you treat us well. The episodes are $1.99 apiece, which is a great deal for a 45-minute-long commercial-free episode of a show.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

if you bypass the inbox and save files in Draft in gmail, you can go over the 10MB limit, however...I'm not sure how much more over the limit you can go. I saved a 45 MB attachment there for a short period of time.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

here's another idea if the computer you want to send the file to (and the computer sending the file) will be attached to the internets for awhile:

foldershare.com

this is fucking awesome and the file (and whatever else you put in the shared folder) will be copied over to the friend's computer.

foldershare.com looks interesting. You've used it, LeNub? I'll ask my friend if he wants to give it a go.
