What type of router is it? Most of them have a hard reset button that will return them to factory defaults.

Linksys. I shall try that
On a linksys you need to press the reset button and hold it in until all the lights flash off. I think it's around 10 seconds.
Yup.
Diag still on, though
We had the same problem with ours, and I don't remember how it got fixed. Often the reset button would work, and sometimes unplugging the power to the router for about 20 seconds would work. Sometimes using Windows "Repair Network Connections" would work. Our laptop kept setting up a bridge that wasn't needed and preventing itself from getting on the wireless network; you might check that.
Anybody use or know of flash music players? My DH has asked for one for Xmas, and I'm not sure where to start looking. I'm checking c|net for reviews, but I don't even really know what I'm looking for.
The Nano is a flash music player -- as is the shuffle. Does he have more precise requirements? It's not a small market.
The Nano won't work very well without iTunes, and iTunes requires W2K or better.
There's an AVI I tried playing in VLC on my Powerbook, but all I get is audio and this message:
main: no suitable decoder module for fourcc `IV50'. VLC probably does not support this sound or video format.
A quick google indicates that it just won't play on a Mac because of the codec ownership issues, but in general, if VLC doesn't have a codec, what's the OS X only solution? Is there a GSpot or such like?
His requirements are:
- Not the Nano (I could list all the reasons, but it's basically an anti-Apple prejudice)
- as small as possible
- doesn't have to play downloaded/copy-protected music
- decent battery life
- USB 2.0 compatible
Grrrrr.....
Okay, ND and I updated the software on this geriatric G3 as much as possible before I took possession of it, and I think it broke the damned thing. My browser keeps regularly crashing for no reason, even when it's not being all that overloaded.
And now the new extreme annoyance -- it has taken up randomly deciding that any mouse click anywhere on screen is to be interpreted as a back button command.
