Anya: We should drop a piano on her. It always works for that creepy cartoon rabbit when he's running from that nice man with the speech impediment. Giles: Yes, or perhaps we could paint a convincing fake tunnel on the side of a mountain.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I'm not at the office right now -- I'll try that tomorrow. But can I save the PDF that way, from Reader? I need a one page, full size, PDF to attach to a package of documents.

Hell, I'll give them all a try.

Are you printing to a PDF? And are we talking Mac or PC?

Printing to a PDF on a PC.

I think that once you set the custom page size, you should be able to select it in any program and then do your print to PDF and it will be the right size. I know it works here. If it doesn't work tomorrow, I can look at my settings on the work PC since I print to 22 x 28 all the time.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

My question is, do I have to worry about compatibility with my TV? I have a Phillips/Magnavox TV, can I buy a Sony or Toshiba DVD player?

No, brand should not affect compatibility. Though the DVD player I just bought is a Philips (this one, which a few other Buffistas also have) and I'm very happy with it.

want to get one of those things that are speakers that you plop your iPod into.

I've had the Altec Lansing for years and I love it. Looks like it's about $100 at MacConnection.

I've had the Logic3 for about a year and I value its portability (it can run on batteries but eats them fast), but it can't really handle much volume. If you try to use it in a large space or push the volume too far, it gets fuzzy. It's great in that it doubles for me as a firewire dock (my ipod only came with USB) and speakers I can move around the house and take outside. Froogle says it's in the $75-80 range.
