I battle evil. But I don't really win. The bad keeps coming back and getting stronger. Like that kid in the story, the boy that stuck his finger in the duck.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

If someone sends me a CD of mp3 files they burned, will I be able to import the songs into my Mac based itunes?

Yes.

Is it an audio CD (i.e. playable on any CD player), or is it a CD full of mp3 files?

In both cases, you'll be able to import them into iTunes, but if it's the former, you'll need to enter the song info by hand.

And maybe even the latter, if the mp3s don't have tag info.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Thanks! I can do that (or not, since I have been known to be lazy and just leave songs as "track one").

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Tivo question:

so I am finally getting a new hard disk from weaknees. Should be here tomorrow. I opted to replace my current hard drive rather than getting a second one.

Has anyone done this? I know it erases everything, so I've been taking down the season passes, copying over some programs I want to keep. I've taken down the wishlists and some program ratings (though clearly I'll be starting all over here).

Anything else I should do?

I thought there's ways to mount the old and new drives onto your PC and copy everything over.

What do you mean "taking down"? Do you mean taking notes?

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

I'm taking them down dammit!

Yes, I actually have a Word document where I typed everything out. It really didn't take a lot of time.

Sorry, my first thought was that you were deleting them (like taking down a dog? I don't know how my brain works sometimes), and I wondered why. But then I realized what you probably meant.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Well, my language, I admit, was overly aggressive for no good reason. :-)

To understand what happened at the diner, we shall use Mr. Papaya! This is upsetting because he's the friendliest of fruits.

I need your brrrraaaaaiiiins.

I'm working on a project that involves setting up a podcast, and need some advice.

How do you do it? What's involved? What equipment and software do you need? Can you set it up so it can also stream to other players, like Quicktime?

Also, what are your most favorite podcasts?

All help appreciated.
