I found the OWC listing and am ready to order. Is either PC100 or PC133 preferable for any reason?

Got a question about technology? Ask it here. Discussion of hardware, software, TiVos, multi-region DVDs, Windows, Macs, LINUX, hand-helds, iPods, anything tech related. Better than any helpdesk!
I checked the charge when I left the house this morning: 75%. When I opened it at 3 pm to make a note, it gave me a low-power warning. WTF?
Sounds like something keeps turning it back on. Is it kept in a case? A purse? A pocket?
I haven't heard about this with the Tungsten E, but my Dad this problem when he first got his Zire 71. There wasn't enough clearance between the factory flip-cover and the center button, and whenever there was any pressure on the outside of the case the PDA got turned back on. It happened often enough that the battery wouldn't last through the day.
Beej, it shouldn't make a difference, as the PC 133 just means it's made to not fail for those machines that have faster bus speeds. I checked the OWC listing, it lists your machine.
Remember how my G5 didn't come with the Airport Extreme card I ordered? Well, when I opened it up today to install the replacement card I was sent, it turns out that I already had one in there. (It just wasn't properly installed -- once I snapped it into place, it worked fine.)
So now I have an extra one. If anyone wants it, they can have it for $50. (I'll x-post in Press.)
Is it kept in a case? A purse? A pocket?
It's in a leather case inside my bag. The on button is on the top, and it's a little recessed. It's possible it's getting turned on accidentally. Maybe I'll try to make sure I put it in right-side up: maybe if it's upside down it presses against my cell and that turns it on.
Thanks for the advice!
A question about Mac networks.
When I connect to DH's computer, I am asked for a username and password, which are pre-entered, and I have no trouble mounting his computer's HD.
When he tries to connect to mine, the same thing happens, except that his password field is blank, and so he can't connect.
Neither of us has any memory of setting up usernames or passworda, or setting up anything that would require a password. I've tried "password" "apple" and any number of other good guesses, with no avail.
What can I do to let him see my hard drive?
[eta that we have no trouble with either internet or printer sharing. It's just the direct computer-to-computer connection that's being difficult.]
Tiger (and Panther) made me set up a password just to configure the computer the first time -- the same password it prompts me for when I try and update the system software -- have you tried that credential combo?
That's an idea. I'll have to find out from DH what that password is when he gets home.
Anybody know of a website, script, or application that will run through all your livejournal entries and change them to friends only? I'm probably converting to a non-public journal, just for my own personal comfort. Especially since I'll eventually have students, and my LJ could probably be found with a search of my name. I don't really want to go back through all my entries and edit them one-by-one if I can help it, though.
ETA: Never mind, going through one-by-one in my client turned out to be cathartic.
DH and I have been talking seriously about replacing our DVD player (our current one has developed an annoying habit of not being able to hold the tray open long enough to put a DVD in -- hitting the "open/close" button does just that, the tray opens and then immediately closes again, so in order to insert a disc, you have to grab it and manually hold it open), and I've been looking at the Philips DVP642. I know it's been mentioned here before, but it's got very mixed reviews online.
Specifically, I've seen repeated complaints about the drive noise, and units dying unexpectedly after 7 or 8 months. Has anyone here owned one for long enough to tell me if this is a universal problem?
