Overwhelming? How much more than whelming would that be exactly?

Hey. New board.

Dana: if you send me the file at my gmail account (profile) then I could host it on my webspace for a couple of days. Then you could just give them a weblink that should hopefully work (I'm just figuring out the Columbia network, but it seems pretty simple).

Hey. New board.

Cereal to talk about something completely different.

So I made a Google Group for the the people in my program here at Teachers College. I gotta say, Google is really, really good at what they do. It's an email list! It's a searchable archive that almost counts as a webforum! It's easy to manage! You don't need a gmail account (I think)!

It's like Yahoo Groups, only without all the pain and suffering. Thus far, it comes recommended.

The generation that could change the world is still looking for its car keys.

That is about the best way I've ever heard to set up a semi-public file cache for under-10MB files.

Thank the person in the Chaka Khan who suggested it . . . . Whose name I don't recall.

Another idea, if this is going to be something you do semi-frequently, is to set up an FTP server, but this is not for the faint of heart.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

You don't need a gmail account (I think)!

Nope --- any email address will do.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Thanks for the offer, but I do technically have webspace I could use. My mother does fine with computers when she knows how to do it, but anything new is scary. Hopefully it will e-mail just fine, and she can forward it on without a problem.

She probably would be able to figure out where she saved any file she downloaded, which puts her ahead of some clients I've worked for. Or the guy, who when asked for a screenshot, faxed us a printout.

Okay, we hate the new official Bittorrent client update. What is the well-dressed downloader using these days? Did that issue with Azureus ever get fixed? Desired benefits include the ability to run as many torrents as I damn well want at once, throttling the upload speed, etc.

Generally stained underwear and a bathrobe. Why do you ask?

You get none of my KB, sir.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

I'm still happy with BitTornado.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I used Yet Another Bittorrent Client, until it hung with GF, revealing its UDP issues. Then I googled UDP torrent client and picked XBT for no good reason. It worked.
