So, I promised my sister a camera for her birthday. My stipulations are that it has to be small (smaller than your average 35mm point and shoot) and that it has to use an SD card. Her stipulation was that it needed to have a zoom lens, so really, she's not demanding.
Does anyone have any specific model names to toss out for me to start researching with?
I have no idea what an SD card is, but check the Canon Elph.
Oh, that! I didn't realize it was called anything other than a "memory card."
DH just got this Nikon Coolpix, which is pocket sized, uses SD cards, and has a nicely intuitive interface.

They have different sorts of cards -- my Clie used an incompatible format.
Will go look at Elphs.
eta: Excellent, Jessica!
I like my Panasonic, it's small; but it doesn't have a very good zoom.
The next model up has a pretty good zoom, though.
I am going to buy an iPod today - my gut it to buy the regular 20gb one. Any thoughts or suggestions otherwise?
How many CDs do you have, and how many do you want to carry around with you?
I am not exactly sure how many I have, maybe 400-500? I certainly don't need them all with me, like not the Holiday songs.
