Is it possible to burn a CD of pictures on a mac that will always open up as a slideshow on a PC?
My boss has her daughter's prom pictures on a CD. The photographer showed her the pictures on a slideshow (on a PC). She cannot get them to play as a slideshow on her PC (she has Kodak easyshare?).
I can get them into a slideshow on iPhoto, but that< I don't think, will work on a PC.
She also needs me to burn copies like this for all the people in the prom party.
GAH! HELP!!
Sophia, I *think* that the photo slideshow is a software issue, not an issue of how you burn the CD. If your boss has Kodak EasyShare, there's probably a preference she has to set that will automatically open the pictures as a slideshow.
And the same is true for all the people in the prom party -- and they might not even have that Kodak software.
My best guess is that all you can do is burn the photos to CD (which is a big enough favor, unless "Do stuff for boss's kid" is part of your job description). The software issues are up to the individual computers. Can you explain that to your boss?
Thanks Steph-- I was looking for a second opinion before I told her, since it DEOS seem to be part of my job description;)
So. I have a beautiful new G5 that I love and cherish and call George.
Since this is my first Mac, I need software recs. Specifically, web design (I used to use CoffeeCup) and personal accounting (MS Money). And at some point I'll probably have to figure out how to sync my Clie's calendar/contacts/etc. (I was using Agendus, which has both PC and PalmOS versions, but nothing for Mac.)
Jess, unfortunately there's no universally loved personal accounting software for the Mac -- that's my one quibble. I still miss MS Money. I'm using Quicken, since it came with my iBook, but it took a lot of getting used to, and I still don't like the way it tracks investments.
I know nothing about web design software, for Mac or PC.
Gack! I just did a quick search on "quicken" to check the price on Amazon, and the first result it gave me was Quicken Willmaker Plus 2005. I'm a little nervous now.
Well, it works with your tagline....
Quicken didn't come with your OS?
You know, I haven't checked. I don't think so, though.
Jess, what did you get -- an iMac, or a Power Mac? The iMac comes with Quicken, according to Apple's site. The Power Mac, NSM.
t edit But it looks like the Power Mac comes with something called QuickBooks for Mac, which sounds like an accounting program.
