Jesse, you could also try installing and running Spybot. Sometimes different spyware programs are better at whacking certain bugs. You may also have something that respawns every time you reboot. You might see what AdAware catches, make a note of the name, and do some research on the 'net.

Got a question about technology? Ask it here. Discussion of hardware, software, TiVos, multi-region DVDs, Windows, Macs, LINUX, hand-helds, iPods, anything tech related. Better than any helpdesk!
Ah, Spybot. Thanks -- I knew there was another one, but forgot what it was called.
You also need to reboot in Safe mode and then run the program.
Frelling Windows.
Run which program? Spybot?
Both, really.
Right on, thanks.
Hi Noise Design, This is your old G4/400 Powerbook. I miss you sooooooooooo much. This crazy lady who keeps poking me doesn't know what she's doing.
Have fun with that Mini tramp.
My next home networking task is the server. I'm thinking Linux. I've shared Linux directories before to Windows machines, but there was a domain server involved. I'm good with getting back up to speed on that.
What do I need to know is what should I be doing to share with an OS X machine?
Quick Mac + Office question.
I just upgraded my eMac to 10.1.5 pathetic, I know...it's all about the Benjamins and am looking to install the lowest version of Office possible. Where can I find O 2001 and is it possible to open OS9 documents within it?

eta: I meant to say O 2001 for OSX...I've got OS9...I suppose that goes with out say, but still.
etaa: I've checked macfixit and mactopia. I can't find a source for old versions.
2) Is there any way to get stuff off a pdf into a spreadsheet without retyping it?
Jesse ... if you're using the Foxit PDF Reader that I linked to ages ago (and why wouldn't you be?) then there's a button called Select Text which lets you highlight text so you can do a copy 'n paste. I'm sure Acrobat also has the same function but I don't recall if it is a button or just in a pulldown menu.
