Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

There are inherant security concerns with cable - it's much easier to tap into the line than with DSL.

I thought I heard something about how this is no longer true. Not positive though.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Did you see the Ipod DJ mixer?

I like the description of the Tivo upgrade hard drive. This may be in my future this summer:

Here is a wristband for the Ipod mini:

OOh - Army Tests Grenade Bot. Cool for the name 'Grenade Bot' alone. eta: although that's not its real name.

Also, a video of Grenade Bot blowing shit up: [link]

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

When I had cable, I was like, ten yards away from the main whoosits, and I lived in a tiny tiny town where people barely had computers, let alone high-speed at the time, so with no shared competition it was blazing for me. Rocked.

The DSL at the youth center where I work is fine, and reasonably fast, but needs reset periodically.

The direct T1 line at my library wasn't too shabby. Heh.

My current spotty 19.2 dial-up, otoh, bites.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I did, and I think it was 'Suela that tipped me to it.

Gorgeous, but it's sad how quickly I got used to it and filled it up with stuff. I don't need to keep complete seasons of shows, yet ...

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

oh yeah, I've been bugging ita about hers for a long while. I haven't been able to justify spending $$ on an extra drive yet, so let's see what I come up this summer. :-)

You don't have one?

Oops.

No, I have a Tivo and I did get a hard drive added when the original one got fried. I just find it hard to believe I was ahead of you on any technological curve. I am amongst the least tech-savvy Buffistas.
