To play .wmv files on any Mac, the easy -- and free -- option is to just download Windows Media Player for Mac.

Thanks Steph! I'm surprised the friend I bought the computer from didn't have that on there somewhere, but it might be one of those things that got left in the other operating system (I can boot up in two different versions).

And does anyone know where I can get a good pair of headphones to replace my iPod headset, which is already collapsing under the strain of nearly-daily use? I've had it for 3 months, and they're starting to give me static and the bassline cuts out regularly.

The Bose Quiet Comfort are full size active noice cancelling headphones that are truly amazing.
Shure makes earbud style ones that are also amazing.

Headphones are something that are worth spending the bucks on, though, especially if you have them in regular use.
Today one of my kiddos was twirling her set by the wires, whilst definitely not practicing her scales. We did a little reprimanding. Heh.

Earbuds are good -- I use the iPod on the bus and for walking & gym time, and headphones would be too much.
