FWIW, all, there is an article in the Arts section of today's NYT about Jack Bauer the Torturer What Is Doing His All To Save Humanity. And about how, whether or not we think it's a bad thing, it's so common in this year's worth of 24 that it's coming to seem normal.
I was explaining the Buffista parts of this topic to my mother over coffee and the paper, and she found it much in vein with that year (last year?) that Tony broke his ankle and was on crutches for an hour, and then had a cane for an hour, and then was fine. He is just a really fast healer, right?
Wasn't it also last year he was shot in the neck, and back on the job, the same day?
I think the crutches was S1 or 2, S3 was the shot in the neck (he wore a bandage for a couple of hours, and that was that).
S3 was also the season of Jack's heroin addiction, which took all of about three hours to get over.
Do not get me started on Jack's heroin addiction.
I am Jack's bleeding ulcer.
OK, I'll call it then: I am Jack's velvety whisper.
I am Jack's well-worn baseball cap.
Other Jack.
Other Jack.
The other Jack, the other other Jack, or the other other other Jack.
Heh, next spoiler thread should be, "You don't know Jack, or at least not which one."
I don't read this thread so you guys have probably already been discussing this:
Billie Piper is leaving Doctor Who in the middle of the next series.
24 Finale spoilers from AICN:
- Naked Mandy phones Michelle and tells her to do everything she says or Michelle’s beloved Soul-Patch Tony dies.
- We get Naked Tony this week too as Mandy forces him to strip.
- That shot of Michelle screaming in the promo? She’s screaming at the image of Tony dying in a massive fireball.
- After four seasons and – what – eight years? Jack finally takes Naked Mandy into CTU custody and gets to “question” her.
- In San Diego, Chinese agents kidnap and interrogate Howard Bern, the CTU agent spotted on the Chinese embassy’s videotape. The Chinese agents threaten to sneak Bern out of the U.S. to rot inside a Chinese labor camp. As the 23rd hour ends, Bern confesses the man who led the embassy raid was Jack Bauer.
- In return for a presidential pardon, Mandy reveals Marwan’s location.
- Marwan puts a bullet into Curtis. Jack puts one into Marwan. That shot of somebody hanging on the outside of a parking garage, high above the street? That's Marwan, who is given the opportunity to prove he’d rather die than reveal the nuclear warhead’s destination.
- The Chinese contact the White House and demand Jack Bauer be turned over to them immediately, to be tried on Chinese soil under Chinese law. Over Palmer’s protests, President Logan agrees.
